FAQ Endurance Canada
What is Endurance Canada?
Endurance Canada is a Committee of the Sport Council of Equine Canada, and is the national governing body of the sport of endurance riding in Canada. It was created in 2006.
The Endurance Canada Committee (ECC) is responsible for the pursuit of excellence at all levels of the sport, and to provide leadership to support and grow the Canadian endurance riding community.
The mandate of Endurance Canada is to provide leadership in the development of programs from grassroots to international, meeting the policy guidelines of Equine Canada, Sport Canada and the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), and to work in concert with the provincial endurance organizations.

How does Endurance Canada work?
Endurance Canada is a committee, not a club, so there is no voting by the general membership for club executives, by-laws, etc. The work of Endurance Canada is carried out by the members of the Endurance Canada Committee (ECC) who shape and guide the efforts of the various sub-committees.
The ECC works to advance the interests of the Canadian endurance riding community at the national level within Equine Canada. This includes many activities designed to foster the growth of the sport of endurance in Canada.
Activities include encouraging participation and developing athletes, certifying officials and coaches, developing national rules and sanctioning procedures and managing the Endurance squads of the Canadian Equestrian Team.
How can I get on the Endurance Canada Committee?

How does Endurance Canada work with the provincial endurance organizations?
The members of the Endurance Canada Committee (ECC) bring the interests of their respective provincial endurance organizations to the ECC and Equine Canada. This allows for national programs to be developed that reflect interests from across the country.
Since its inception in 2006, the work of the ECC has grown and evolved. ECC’s relationship with the provincial endurance organizations is also growing and evolving. It has been “all new” for all of us!
The ultimate goal is for the endurance riding community to work together and to speak with one strong voice to promote the sport of endurance.
